  • Juicy fruit is gonna move ya

For once, and I know you are not going to believe me, I was glad to see Monday arrive and start a new week.  Last week was just really busy and tinged with sadness b/c two friends at church each lost their dads.  One of those "dads" played at my wedding & was a close family friend of my husbands family.  Losing Craig's parents way too early has made me very sensitive to those that lose theirs.

    Story time at the library

Last week I took Aleigh to story time at the library.  Through out the summer the activities are geared for school age kids so I dropped off the the twins at grandmas.  They were doing a special cup-cake making day.  They had some 4-H girls come in and demonstrate making different "doggie" cupcakes.  They were really cute.  It was a Schnauzer dog cupcake.

Play date with Jamie & her girls

After story time we met Jamie, Katie, Kennedy and Drew at the park for a picnic and then the kids went swimming in the wading pool.  It was a fun way to cool down a bit from the heat and humidity.

Aleigh had fun riding around on Drew's back

Ryan with his lil Ethiopian belly.  He loved splashing the water.

    Miss Avery loves the water

    Ryan with his friend Kaity

Here is Jamie with Kennedy who did not like the water at all.

    Homecoming

Thurs. evening we took the kids to the Homecoming.  We bought arm bands and let them ride lots of rides.  Two of my babies were in the baby show - my best friends baby - Jake and then my nephew Joel so we watched that.  It was really stinkin hot though.  Then my scrappin pals daughter was in the queen pageant so we watched that too.

My nephew Joel and his mommy before the baby show in his cute lil Hawaiian monkey shirt.

There he is with his Dad (looks just like his dad) waving his lil paper up on stage.
There was like 18 kids in his category and only two prizes so he didn't win anything officially
but in my book he was the cutest one up there.

There is lil Jake & his mommy (my bestest friend) and he won first place in his category.

    The twins riding the elephants

This was Ryan's favorite ride. He would of rode it over and over all night if we would of let him. He kept hanging his head over and watching the wheels go around.

    Aleigh driving with both wheels

Avery riding the carousel with cousin Trey

    Ryan riding with cousin Tyler

    Aleigh having a good time

Aleigh climbing up to slide down the big slide. Avery loved this and climbed it easy as can be but Ryan couldn't get up by himself. Him and Trey went up once together.

Ryan was getting a bit tuckered out and was resting on Pomp-Po (I love this picture)

Aleigh riding the ferris wheel for the first time. Craig bought tickets so he could go with her

    Up, up they go

    The Best Commercial

Let me sing it to you "Let your love flow..." Know which one I am talking about.  So I am reading one of my fav blogs and she starts talking about the Prius hybrid commercial and how every time the commercial comes on her husbands says "We need to find this song!"  Well, the funny thing is my husband and I always have the exact same conversation when it comes on so I was delighted when she linked me to the download.  Not only to the song but to a cool video which shows how they made it.  Of course I have to share.  Now I can listen to the song anytime I feel the need.  Not only is the song catchy but I just love how they did the commercial with people like that.  Pretty awesome stuff!

You can download the song free from Toyota's website here:

And here's the video on how the commercial was actually made (using real people).

    Father's Day

So how was everyone's Father's Day?  We had a pretty good day.  Pastor preached a Duct Tape themed sermon (hee-hee) and then my Dad came over after church.  I made scalloped ham and potatoes, lima beans, and a peach pie.  Some of his fav foods.  He brought me the best present, a whole bunch of freshly picked raspberries - yum.  I can't wait to make a cheesecake.  My raspberry cheesecake is to die for.  We did Craig's Father Day dinner Saturday evening and I made him a roast, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles and green beans.  Aleigh made him a card and I got him a subscription to Reader's Digest.  It has been something he has wanted for awhile now.  Then for my Dad's present I took him to Wal-mart and paid for him to get his fishing license.  That evening we went over to Craig's sister house and she made homemade pizza and we just hung out.  We played hide-in-seek and Aleigh hid so good, that three adults couldn't find her.  LOL  We finally told her to just come out.  So yeah, good times.

Well I guess that's all folks.

P.S. I hope the Juicy Fruit song gets stuck in your head like it is in mine

I really love the picture of your little boy resting on his Grandpa's head. That's a keeper for sure! Those cupcakes look really neat, too. I bet they were a lot of fun to make.

It was a perfect weekend to be in the water. It was insanely hot here in Oklahoma!

As we don't have television service, by choice, I had not seen the commercial, but WOW that was amazing! Thanks for sharing for those of us who don't have tv. Looks like everyone is enjoying the beginning of the summer. It is just starting to warm up here. Not warm enough for swimming yet.
