  • Why is it then when I have so much to do and get done I find myself unfocused and seemingly unable to get myself motivated to do all those things.  My list of things "to do" just seems so overwhelming that it is difficult for me to actually get started on it.

I'm not sure where this summer is going but it is quickly flying by.  I can hardly believe in a few days it will be July.  This weekend my bestest cuz is getting married - yep on the 4th of July.  I am a bridesmaid so we will be heading about 4 hours north on Thursday evening.  I am excited.  It should be a great time.  I am so happy for her.  Plus I haven't even seen her littlest boy yet - so that will be an extra treat.  Plus her brother and his family is back from NC - so that will be good to see them.  It will be a great weekend of celebrating.

I hope my Aleigh will be feeling better by then.  She got into some poison ivy when she was climbing a tree.  She completely broke out on Saturday and it was awful.  Mostly on her face.  She was so miserable.  I took her to the Dr. first thing Monday morning and she got a steroid shot plus an oral steroid to get her through.  Her Dr. said "So if anyone ever asks - she is very, very, very allergic to poison ivy"  She is doing much better - but when she woke up on Monday morning her face was so swollen that she could not even open one of her eyes.  Her temperant through the whole thing has been amazing though.  When she saw herself in the mirror she told her Dad - "Look Dad, I am a pirate - Aye Aye Mateys"  After her Dr. Appt. we had to wait about 20 minutes at Wal-Mart to get her prescription and everyone was stopping and talking to me and giving me their home remedies.  The best was this one lady told me to go get some bags of frozen cut up rhubarb and rub it all over the ivy.  She said she is highly allergic and it always helps her when she gets it.  I didn't try it b/c the steroid is working so well.  Also people kept saying to Aleigh "Don't itch it honey, otherwise it will spread"  Just so you know - that is untrue.
"Once the oil has been removed, the rash from poison oak or poison ivy is not contagious. Even the oozing blisters are not contagious, although they look like they should be. Because new blisters can keep appearing over the course of a week, people assume that touching the rash causes it to spread, or that the ooze itself is responsible for the spreading. The fluid that fills the blisters is one's own serum, not the poisonous oil."

The main reason to keep them from scratching is to allow them to heal properly and not keep scratching them back open.  Anyhoo, I hope she is mainly cleared up by the weekend so she is not miserable as we travel & are away.

Well, we went to the St. Louis Cardinals game on Saturday and it was awesome.  Craig's name got drawn at work and that is how he got the tickets.  The company's insurance allows them to use the suite every so often and so we had greats seats, loads of good food, and an a/c room we could relax in if we got too hot.  It was awesome.  Craig said - "When else can you sit and watch a ball game while eating a piece of double decker chocolate cake?"  Plus the Cardinals won and Pujols hit 2 home runs.  It was a great game.

    So happy together!

Sunday was good.  Craig preached and Sunday afternoon I got in a much needed nap.  Sunday afternoon naps are the best.

So yeah, a lot happening and a lot going on as always.  I guess I probably should be getting to that to do list.  I need to weed in my flower garden, water my tomato plants w/ miracle grow, do up about 4 bags of cherries - some for a pie, the rest to freeze, clean out the van for the trip, do a ton of laundry, start packing, clean all areas of my house, make a grocery list & meal plan, pay some bills, make a trip to the library and then die of exhaustion.

I will leave you with this cute picture of Avery -- she had on like four different dress up skirts and no shirt and she just looked so cute...

your new theme is super skinny!  (just thought you should know)

and that is weird because lexie went swimming and broke out in ivy too.  She's really allergic and its all over her face and its swollen and one of her eyes is closed.

Which kinda sucks since my sisters wedding is the 3rd! and Shes a bridesmaid!  uh oh!

Whew, girl, sounds like you have a lot going on!  I hope you're able to get it all done, but if not, there's always next week to work on the to-do list!    Have fun at your cousin's wedding!  Sounds like a great time.  I hope Aleigh's poison ivy is healing well.

@somebodyloved - I think I fixed it.  I made my own theme which I have never done b4.  Thanx for letting me know

@jolleenkurz - Aleigh's poison ivy is doing way better.  The steroids have worked very fast and very efficiently - however her temperate on them is something else.  They warned me she may be "wound" up on them and have crazy dreams.  She woke up last nite yelling at me and Craig for talking and rolling around and walking her up - and we were dead asleep.  It took me awhile to get her to calm down & she would not believe me she was dreaming.  I did pretty good on the to do list - if I get to it today then hopefully I'll come back to a clean house and that is my goal.
